News

From 7 September 2008, ‘walk-up’ fares (i.e. tickets that customers don’t have to buy in advance) will be grouped into two categories – Anytime or Off-Peak.

Advance

You must book in advance and travel on a specific train service. View our Advance tickets section for full details of the 'advance' ticket range including ticket terms.

Anytime

Anytime train ticket fares

Buy your train ticket at any time, travel at any time (walk up and buy). These are the most flexible fares as there are no time restrictions on when you can travel. Perfect if you need complete flexibility. View our Anytime tickets section for details of the anytime ticket range including anytime ticket terms and conditions.

Off-Peak

Off-peak train ticket fares

Buy your train ticket at any time of day and travel off-peak (Off-peak Day, Off-peak Day Return, Anglia Plus, One Day Rover, Off Peak Day Travelcard and Family Travelcard). These are cheaper fares for travelling when the train's are less busy, so they have restrictions on when you can travel.
