Buy any time, travel any time means that you can turn up at the train station, buy your ticket and go.

Standard Day Single/Return

Standard day return tickets are available on many routes and can be used between two stations at anytime of day on the the date shown on the ticket.

Standard/First Open Single/Return

Travel on any train on any day of the week. An Open Single allows you to make your journey at any time on the date shown on the ticket, whilst an Open Return means you can travel out and back anytime within a month of the date shown.

Peak day Travelcard

On the National Express network, the peak day travelcard is available for travel from stations in Essex and selected stations in Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. It's a daily return ticket that can be used anytime of day during the week. It offers return travel to London and includes unlimited use of London's buses, tubes and most DLR trains in the London Travelcard areas.
