More car parking spaces

While extra and longer trains will deliver additional capacity, there is also a real need for extra car parking spaces to support this.

The three locations that have been selected for development are Audley End, Harlow Town and Diss.

At Audley End we are to deliver a new car park adjacent to the current one, and this will provide spaces for an extra 135 cars. Work on site has already begun and is due for completion in February 2010.

The largest development is at Harlow Town, with 297 spaces being provided. This will involve building upwards on the current car park with two extra levels of car parking. This car park is due for completion by November 2010, and will be similar in design to the recently completed Manningtree extension.

Finally, the third car park at Diss will see the declassification of two sidings to free up the land for our new car park. This will provide around 60 new spaces and is due for completion March 2011.
