Cycle Rescue Service
More good reasons to take your bike on the train!
We offer a cycle rescue service for journeys in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, which we plan to extend to Essex and Hertfordshire.
This unique 24 hour service gives cyclists a complete breakdown assurance. If you are unable to complete a planned journey by train and bike - as a result of accidental loss of, or damage to, your pedal cycle (including theft of or from your cycle, vandalism or irreparable breakdown), or as a result of your injury - call the cycle rescue scheme.
Help will either arrive in the form of transportation for the bicycle and yourself (if appropriate) to either:
- the nearest appropriate railway station
- the nearest suitable cycle repair shop or
- the nearest car rental agency or
- the nearest overnight accommodation or
your home, if nearer.
Operated by the Environmental Transport Association, you can call for help free on 0800 269 842.
Alternatively, visit the Environmental Transport Association website.
Terms and conditions of the Cycle Rescue Scheme
The Cycle Rescue Scheme applies only to holders of valid cycle tickets for journeys solely on National Express train services within Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The Cycle Rescue Scheme only applies in conjunction with the cycle arrangements detailed elsewhere on this website.
