Network Rail Route Improvement Work - 21 & 22 November

There will be changes to some train services operated by National Express East Anglia due to route improvement work being carried out by Network Rail on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November. National Express East Anglia and Network Rail apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works and advise customers to check amended timetable information at stations and on the Train Service Alterations section of the website or by calling National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50. The main alterations to train services as a result of Network Rail improvement work are as follows:

Norwich to Liverpool Street – 21 November

On Saturday, train services between Norwich and Liverpool Street will be replaced by buses Norwich and Diss. An hourly train service will operate between Diss and Liverpool Street.

Liverpool Street / Manningtree to Harwich Town –  21 November

On Saturday, all train services between Liverpool Street and Harwich will be diverted to and from Ipswich. A shuttle train service will operate between Manningtree, and Harwich Town.

Southend & Southminster to Liverpool Street – 22 November

On Sunday, services from Southend and Southminster will terminate at Wickford.  A bus service will run from Wickford to Pitsea, to connect with c2c train services into Fenchurch Street station, London.  

Shenfield to Liverpool Street – 22 November

On Sunday, a bus service will operate from Shenfield station, calling at all stations to Romford, then on to Newbury Park to connect with London Underground Central Line services into London. Passengers for stations between Romford and Liverpool Street will be passed on local TfL bus routes. 

Norwich / Stowmarket to Liverpool Street (and intermediate stations) – 22 November

On Sunday, all services from Norwich to Liverpool Street will be replaced by buses between Norwich and Stowmarket. Trains will run from Stowmarket to Ingatestone, connecting with a bus service to Newbury Park, where customers can transfer on to London Underground Central Line services into London.

Additional carriages will be added to Norwich to Cambridge services to accommodate customers who wish to travel from Norwich to Liverpool Street, via Cambridge.  An additional bus service will also run from Diss to Thetford, to enable customers to connect with the Norwich to Cambridge services.

Cambridge to Stratford – 22 November

On Sunday, Cambridge to Stratford services will also be diverted to and from Liverpool Street via Hackney Downs and will not call at Stratford all day.

On Sunday, additional train services have been arranged to stop at White Hart Lane and Northumberland Park, before and after the match.
