£5 million is being spent improving station facilities.
Projects include toilet refurbishment at thirteen stations across the network and the subway at Colchester station. CCTV coverage will be extended at four key stations supported by new download equipment to provide higher quality images, more quickly. Ticket office and waiting room improvements are also planned as well as the installation of automatic ticket machines.
We are also extending our security programme with the British Transport Police and will trial extra security checks on specific trains and routes.
